RICCARDO FAVERO

Bio

Riccardo Favero, conductor, having specialized in Baroque and Classical repertoire, is a fervent supporter of the exclusive use of original instruments, and he uses a rigorous philological approach aimed to enhance the stylistic elements of the performance.

Fundamental for his musical training have been the studies with M. R. Seidlhoferof  "Academy of Fine Arts and Music" in Vienna, Aldo Ciccolini, Patrizia Marisaldi, Ton Koopmanand, in lutology, the studies with Maestro Fabrizio Reginato.

Riccardo Favero is an eclectic personality, with an intense concert activity in Italy and abroad as a pianist, harpsichordist, fortista (complete performance of the piano concertos by Mozart, Cimarosa, Hummel, Haydn) and conductor of several orchestras. He has participated to many international festivals (Tonhalle Concert Hallin Düsseldorf, Theatre Inka Hostalin Cuzco, Salle Gaveauin Paris, Operain Istanbul, Theatre de Grenoble, Mariinsky Theatrein St. Petersburg, Teatro Municipalof Lima, Trujillo Theatre, Suntory Hall in Tokyo,Early Music Festivalin Trento, Festival of Fermo and Lapedona, Festival of San Martino delle Scale, etc.).

He has conducted Così fan tutte, Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, La Betulia Liberataby W.A. Mozart; L’uccellatriceby N. Jommelli, La Serva Padronaby G.B. Pergolesi, La Dirindinaby D. Scarlatti, Il Campanelloby G. Donizetti, Il Ritorno di Ulisse in Patriaand Il Vespro della Beata Vergineby C. Monteverdi. In addition, in world premiere, he has performed some scores of Giovanni Legrenzi including “Concerti Musicali per uso di Chiesa, l’Op. I”, the “Missa Lauretana quinque Vocibus” and the Oratory “Il Sedecia”.

He has recorded for labels Dynamic, Brilliant Classic, Urania Records, Phoenix, Bongiovanni.

Riccardo Favero is a scholar of lutology and organology, manufacturer of stringed instruments and keyboard. He has created Oficina Musicum as a sort of magic circle where music, musician, artisan craft and scientific knowledge could meet and constitute the essence of the philosophy that sees merge into Oficina Musicum the quality of executive and constructive requirements. He himself plays instruments of self-realization(harpsichord, organ and fortepiano).
